Rebel Regiment

Rebel Regiment

The Rebel Regiment is our marching band which is comprised of 9th-12th grade students plus a few top middle schoolers.  This is group is nearly 80 members strong and is essentially extracurricular since we do not have a marching band class during the school day.  We practice three days a week after school from mid-August to November.  We have numerous students who participate in marching band in addition to athletics, clubs and other extracurricular activities.

The Rebel Regiment has earned numerous accolades and awards.  The Rebel Regiment was the 2017 and 2012 South Carolina Band Directors Association 2A State Champion, has won 3 SCBDA Lowerstate Championships, was the 2010 and 2019 SCBDA 2A State Bronze Medalist and was a 4 time SCBDA Lowerstate Championship Runner-up.

The Rebel Regiment performs regularly at these events:

  • Football Games
The band performs in the stands and at halftime for all home games.  The band also one of the few groups that travel to all away games, thanks to the support of the Edgefield County School District.

  • Competitions
We are a competitive band program that competes against bands from all over the state in local competitions and at SCBDA 2A State Marching Band Championships. We typically compete in 5-6 competitions a year.  These competitions take place on Saturdays during the months of September and October.

  • Community Events
We also get invited to perform at other school and community events such as parades, pep rallies and other special ceremonies.
